
Parent Education Classes and Workshops
Parenting Classes are offered free of charge, statewide. Private classes and speakers are also available.
Classes and Workshops are offered to parents, grandparents and other caregivers dealing with, among other things, family communication, discipline, child development, stress management and strengthening the parent/child relationship. Classes and workshops are provided by trained instructors in a wide variety of community based locations throughout the state. Other services include workshops and trainings for schools, churches, community groups and private organizations. Parenting classes are also offered within the Department of Corrections at various sites statewide.
Birth to Three Parenting Classes
Focusing on children birth to three years of age. Six 2-hour sessions.
Children Come Without Instructions
A basic series designed to provide parents with information about child development, age appropriate behavior, discipline and communication. Focusing on parenting children four to twelve years old. These classes meet for two hours for six weeks.
Teens Come Without Instructions
An 8-week series for parents/caregivers of teens. Topics include: communicating with your teen, effective discipline and growing independence.
Dad’s Parenting Class
Especially for Dads. This 6-week group focuses on parenting and the important role of the father
