Parent Education

Parent education classes are held in community-based locations throughout the State. A variety of parent education formats are offered including classes, workshops, trainings, and speakers for schools, churches, community centers, and private organizations. Classes include: Parenting Birth to Three; Children Come Without Instructions (basic course); Teens Come Without Instructions; Dad’s Parenting Class; and classes for Spanish speaking populations. Workshops and speakers are available on a variety of parenting topics.

Children First

This program provides counseling services to families involved in divorce, separation, custody, and visitation issues. Services include; individualized, child and family counseling, play therapy, co-parenting counseling, mediation, and groups. Groups are offered for children, parents and step-parents. Children Coping With Parental Separation Seminars

A six hour certified separation/divorce seminar, required by State law for parents/caregivers involved in petitions for divorce, custody or visitation issues. The seminars provide important information for families in transition, focusing on the best interest of the children. Fees are charged for this program.

Family Resource Center at Sparrow Run

The Family Resource Center offers a variety of family focused programs and services including: after school youth programs, tutoring, literacy, parent education, specialized counseling for victims/children involved in domestic violence, food clubs, recreational activities, and other community based services.
