Project P.R.I.D.E. (Promoting Respect in Dating Experiences)
We strive to help young men and women (ages 13 to 22) stop abuse in their dating relationships. Services include: individual counseling with young people who have been or are in an abusive dating relationship.
CHILD, Inc. offers FREE, structured 7-session psychoeducational
groups for females (14 to 18 years old) to promote the development of
healthy dating relationships. Given that adolescents are at a
developmental time when they are striving for independence, there tends
to be varying degrees of secrecy in regards to their relationships. This
secrecy has the potential of exacerbating a relationship that may be
controlling or abusive. The group provides an opportunity for these young
women to discuss various issues relating to dating and emphasizes the right to a
respectful relationship.
Each group lasts for 90 minutes and is held at CHILD, Inc.'s main office on
Philadelphia Pike. Refreshments
are served. The group will meet every Wednesday. The group
runs January 26, 2011 - March 9th (No
session to be held on February 28, 2011). Please contact Mary McGowan to sign
up or for more information.
Free educational presentations are available by contacting Mary McGowan at (302) 762-8989.
