Parent/Child Counselor - Full Time
Responsible for trauma-informed case management, counseling, and problem-solving assistance services to mothers and children at Martha’s Carriage House (MCH) and other clients, in collaboration with other counseling staff and team members. Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or university in behavioral or social sciences and a minimum of one year of experience in a family counseling or child-serving agency.

 

Domestic Violence Transitional Counselor-Full Time
Responsible for case management, counseling, and problem-solving assistance services to current and former residents of domestic violence shelter; and for establishing linkages between the shelter and other organizations through public speaking and networking.

Requires bachelor’s degree from accredited school or university in the behavioral s    sciences. Two years’ post-college related experience preferred. Requires use of personal vehicle and the level of liability insurance required by agency policy. Must be willing to work evening hours.

 

Therapist - Full Time
To provide psychotherapy to adult survivors of domestic violence as well as to children and youth who have been exposed to domestic violence.

Responsibilities also include providing family interventions when appropriate. Applicants must have a current State of Delaware license in an established helping profession such as Clinical Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. In addition, certification in an evidence based treatment modality for children is preferred, e.g., RPT or TF-CBT. Applicants must have a minimum of three years post-graduate experience as a psychotherapist. Experience should include providing services to persons affected by domestic violence as well as providing services directly to children. Services will include some evening hours as well as being on call to clients in the event of a clinical emergency.

A full-time position is preferred but part-time is possible depending on the qualifications and needs of an applicant.

 

Domestic Violence Residential Counselor - Part Time/AS NEEDED
Residential Counselor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, admission, monitoring of shelter clients, record keeping, answering hotline calls, and assisting with household maintenance. Some college coursework in the human services field required and at least one year work experience or equivalent education and/or experience. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interact with a diverse client population with a variety of needs.

Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overnights, sometimes on short notice, and to carry out a variety of physical and household tasks.

 

Part-Time Bilingual Hotline Counselor
Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited school or university in the behavioral sciences (social work, sociology, psychology, or counseling)      and a minimum of two years’ work experience. Experience with domestic violence work a plus. Able to work independently.

        Fluency in the English and Spanish languages required.

 

 Part-Time After School Homework Club Assistance
We have a great part-time opportunity for teachers, school support personnel, retirees, students and graduates for our after school home work club. Enrich the out of school time for children in our community!  Serving elementary thought high school in the Newark area. Must be available after school hours. Experience with children/youth necessary.

  

Part-Time Bilingual Family Visitation Monitor(Wilm/New/Middletown)

CHILD, Inc. Family Visitation Center is seeking several qualified applicants for the positions of Part- Time Bilingual Visitation Monitors. These positions provide supervision and support to families who have experienced domestic violence and who need assistance in re-establishing or maintaining a safe, healthy, non-violent relationship between their children and the non-custodial parent.  Responsibilities include: observation and documentation of center visits, crisis intervention, and addressing need areas as indicated by Coordinator and/or Shift Supervisor. Good written and oral communication skills required. A B.A. degree is preferred, as well as bilingual (Spanish/English), relevant college coursework and/or experience will be considered. Knowledge of state and community resources preferred.  Part- time position; must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays, with some flexibility for change to meet the needs of the agency.  Please specify which location you are interested in on your cover letter:  Location #1 – Wilmington/Newark OR Location #2 - Middletown.
