Child Youth Service Worker (Full Time Overnight including every other weekend)
Governor Terry Children's Center
Provide direct supervision, support and direction to youth in a compassionate and respectful manner. This includes providing an unwavering commitment to the safety and support of the youth, being aware of all ongoing developments and concerns in the shelter, and contributing in a positive way to a team of professionals. Degree in the Behavioral Sciences preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to interact with a diverse and challenging client population, sometimes under stress.  Must also be willing and able to perform household tasks. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, a vehicle in good working condition and the level of automobile insurance required by CHILD, Inc. This is a great opportunity to make a difference and gain experience in the social services field.

 

Receptionist (Part-Time Monday and Tuesday Evenings)
Responsibilities include answering telephone, receiving visitors, providing information to callers and visitors, and other duties as assigned.  Requires office or related experience, ability to work independently and prioritize, effective communication skills, and basic computer skills.  Must be able to go up and down steps.  Schedule is normally 5 pm-8 pm, two nights per week.  Availability for additional hours or shifts preferred.

 

Program Assistant at Kids Place (Part-Time)
One of our programs is Kids Place, a safe house for children and youth in the Sparrow Run Community off Route 40.  We are seeking applicants for a part-time position.  The Program Assistant helps with tutoring and other after-school activities, including but not only a Science Club and Cooking Club.  The hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 6 pm, with occasional weekend activities.  Requires experience working with children and youth; creativity, patience, and flexibility; and the ability to work as a team member and to communicate effectively.  Rate of pay is $12/hour.   This is a good opportunity to get some experience in the human services field, working with a dedicated group of professionals.
